Utah father of 8 dies in Arizona airplane crash, in conjunction with 11-year-old woman


Display Low, Ariz. • A Utah guy and a Tucson woman have been killed when a single-engine airplane crashed close to the airport of the east-central Arizona town of Display Low, a fireplace reliable stated Thursday.

Deputy Leader Randy Chevalier of the Bushes Mesa Hearth and Clinical District known the ones killed Wednesday as pilot David A. Gillette, 40, and passenger Lorelai Johansen, 11.

An individual who known themselves as a circle of relatives buddy posted on social media Thursday pronouncing Johansen used to be Gillette’s niece, and that Gillette and his spouse, Candace, had 8 kids.

Gillette and Johansen have been the one other people within the airplane, and no one at the flooring used to be injured, Chevalier stated. He stated the airplane crashed on a bluff close to the airport and that it wasn’t instantly identified whether or not the crash happened after a takeoff or ahead of a touchdown.

Nationwide Transportation Protection Board investigators arrived in Display Low on Thursday to analyze the crash, Chevalier stated.

Display Low is 130 miles northeast of Phoenix.
