Students in a civic public policy class in a Syracuse, N.Y., high school recently applied for a historical marker for the closed school next door. The high-schoolers researched the former Central High School — which was built in the early 1900s — using primary source documents like yearbooks to learn more about the significance of the school, the site of which will become a STEAM school set to open in September 2025.
