During 2019-22, enrollment in Advanced Placement courses declined by about 2% in Virginia, while dual-enrollment courses saw a 54% increase in enrollment over the past decade, according to data from the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission. Officials say cost and how credits are transferred to a college setting may be factors in the growing interest in dual enrollment.
