The MathByExample project outlines how students can learn from both the correct and wrong answers on math problems to tease out reasoning and identify misconceptions about how an answer is achieved. Julie Booth, an education professor at Temple University who helped develop the program, says often the way a student learned a previous part of math can lead to misconceptions that carry through.
