Facebook parent company Meta is asking a federal district court to block Federal Trade Commission proceedings that could limit the social media platform’s ability to monetize minor users’ data, saying the move would cause the company “irreparable harm.” The move is the latest step in a battle that began in May when the FTC suggested a 2020 settlement agreement related to Meta’s use of user data to be modified to bar Meta from using teens’ data.
