James Plant Signs New Deal | News – MyCyberBase

Port Vale Football Club are delighted to confirm that 18-year-old midfielder James Plant has put pen to paper on a new contract that will see him stay at Vale Park until at least 2027.

It has been an excellent start to life as a professional footballer for James having seen his hard work and commitment rewarded with his first professional contract this summer and regular starts under Andy Crosby.

Plant made nine appearances in his debut season for the Valiants with his first league start coming away at Ipswich Town in April. This season he has already made 20 appearances and has shown his versatility in various positions on the pitch.

Talking about James’ new contract manager Andy Crosby said:

“This new contract is extremely well-deserved; he has shown over the past few months that he has all of the attributes it takes to develop and he has an excellent chance to succeed in the game. He also has a real experienced head on his shoulders and conducts himself well beyond his years.

“He is in a good environment at Vale Park, the squad of players that he has around him are perfect for his continued development and the first-team staff are giving him all of the tools he needs to help him grow. If he continues to take on the information around him, the sky really is the limit for him.

“James should be proud of the player he has already become, he’s a shining example of what can be achieved when you put the hard work in and we’re looking forward to seeing him push on with his career.”
